2025 Recap - St. Patrick's Day Regional

 

 

Mike Cobb, Dana Parziale, Steve Zannos, Frank Brammer, and Tony James all won The St Patrick’s Day Regional hosted by True Blue Golf Resort!

 

The 2025 Golfweek Amateur Tour Regional Schedule progressed with its fifth tournament of the Tour-wide Regional Series, known as The St. Patrick’s Day Regional, hosted at True Blue Resort. Members from 21 local tours nationwide gathered in Pawleys Island, SC, to compete on The True-Blue Course. The competition, featuring a sell-out field of 104 participants, was intense, and each of the five flight winners secured an invitation to the 2025 National Championship scheduled for this October. 

 

In the Championship Flight, Mike Cobb (Charleston) and Wes Strader (ENC) finished in a tie, both achieving scores of a two-day total of 142(-2). Cobb ultimately secured victory in a one-hole sudden-death playoff against Strader. T.A. Fulmer (Charleston) claimed third place with carding 145 for both days.

 

In the A Flight, Dana Parziale (Central North Carolina) secured first place with a two-day total of 78-73-151. Chris Ludwig (Central North Carolina), followed closely in second place with a total score of 158 (81-77). Mark Ducker (Charleston) took home third place with a total score of 159. 

 

In the B Flight, Steven Zannos (Charlotte) secured the title at the SPD Regional, achieving a two-day total of 157 (78-79) and winning by two strokes over Derwin Pitre (South Florida), who finished with a score of 159 (77-82). Shawn Cacioppo (Central NC) taking third place with a total of 160 (84-76). The top six was completed by Brian Pope (Atlanta) with a score of 161, Daniel Barrett (Charlotte) with 162, and Brien Cozart (ENC) with a 164. 

 

In the C Flight, Frank Brammer (Charlotte) achieved victory by a narrow margin of one stroke, finishing with a two-day total of 175 (94-81). Marlin Morris (Charleston) followed closely with a score of 176 (87-89). In a scorecard playoff, Geof Smith (Charlotte) narrowly defeated Dallas Shackleford (ENC), both finishing with scores of 177 (85-92). Brandon Hall (Charleston) secured the fifth position with a score of 178 (91-87). 

 

In the D Flight, Tony James (Augusta) secured victory, maintaining the lead throughout the competition with a two-day total score of 178 (89-89). James finished three strokes ahead of Ted Deese (Charleston), who recorded rounds of 92 and 89 for a total of 181. Vince Thompson (ENC) taking third place with a total score of 185 (95-90).
