2024 French Lick - Recap

 

Drew Taylor, Chris Tillery, Wally Byrd, Allen Hagen, Scott Munn all won the 2024 French Lick Regional!

The 2024 French Lick Regional brought members from 22 of our local Tours across the country to French Lick, IN. The Donald Ross and The Pete Dye Courses hosted 103 Golfweek Amateur Tour members.

In the Championship Flight, Drew Taylor (South Florida) captured the victory with the scores of 72-76-148.  Falling one stroke behind was Matt Green (Cincinnati/Dayton) finishing second at 149 followed by John Chupp (Michigan West) posting a 152, Duke Sturges (Indianapolis, IN) carding an impressive score of -1 on the Day One, claiming fourth place with a Two-Day total of 152, followed by David Dodgen (Columbia, SC) shooting 156. 

In the A Flight, Chris Tillery (Atlanta, GA) won by 8 shots with scores of 77-78-155.  A scorecard tiebreaker was needed to settle second place between two players with total scores of 163. Jeremy Wilson (Indianapolis, IN) posting an 80 on Day Two and Matt Fulcoly (Chicago, IL) carded an 84 on Day Two taking the third position. Marcus Wirth (Nashville, TN), Andrew Wenning (Indianapolis, IN), Jeff Hawkins (Tidewater, VA), Joe Julkowski (Cincinnati/Dayton) and Nick Reel (Indiana-Western KY) were tied for fourth with the total of 165.

In the B Flight, Wally Byrd (Louisiana South) declared victory by one stroke with rounds of 90-81-171.  Another scorecard playoff resulted in Amalaraj Irudayaraj (Indianapolis, IN Tour Director) taking the second position posting a score of 84 on Monday and Rick Wiggington (Indiana-Western KY Senior Tour Director) carding an 87 (both players had a Two-Day total of 172). Followed by Boyd Laughlin (Hilton Head-Savannah), Nolan Elenz (Charlotte, NC) and Ryan Beaven (Indiana-Western KY) tied fourth at 174.

In the C Flight, Allen Hagen (Charlotte, NC) lead wire to wire with rounds of 86-85-171 taking home the trophy by 9 shots. With Chuck Skelton (Indianapolis, IN) and Don Hubbard (Cincinnati/Dayton) both had a Two-Day total of 180, coming down to Monday’s round would declare second place, Skelton carding an 88, and Hubbard shooting a 92 on Day Two. Followed by Jeremy McCord (Indianapolis, IN) in fourth place with 181.

In the D Flight, Scott Munn (Indianapolis, IN) shot his personal best 85 on the Day Two to take home the win by 9 shots with scores 94-85-179.  Anthony Bernardi (Chicago, IL) was solo second at 188, followed by Travis Sorrell (Cincinnati/Dayton) posting a 190.  Caleb Gonya (Indianapolis, IN) was fourth at 192 followed by Po Lehman (Tampa, FL) respectively claiming the fifth position with a score of 193.

Thanks to all who participated the Raffle for the V Foundation and congrats to Boyd Laughlin (Hilton Head-Savannah) who won the Srixon ZX4 Irons donated by Srixon with the proceeds ($685) going to the Jimmy V Foundation – Cancer Research.
