Dale Fuller, Eric Maland, Brian Pope, Allen Hagen & Pattina Martinez all win the Southern Regional at Kiawah Island!
The Southern Regional brought members from 18 of our local Tours across the country to Kiawah Island, SC. Turtle Point & Cougar Point Courses hosted 66 Golfweek Amateur Tour members.
In the Championship Flight, Dale Fuller (Eastern, NC) wins with the lowest two-day total on any Regional this year. Fuller fired rounds of 65-71-136, eight under par to win by 11 shots. Jeff Wong (Hilton Head/Savannah) finished in second at 147 followed by Jeff Kane (Hilton Head/Savannah) with 159. Tony Van Gundy (Nashville, TN) was fourth with 163 followed by Chris Legare (Hilton Head/Savannah) and Dennis McCormac (Hilton Head/Savannah) tied fifth with 164.
In the A Flight, Eric Maland (Charleston) won by two shots with 75-75-150. Chris Martinez (Eastern, NC) was second at 152 followed by Brian Priester (Hilton Head/Savannah) in third with a 2-Day total of 164. Carlos Quinones (Tidewater, VA) was fourth at 161 followed Siddiqi Sameer (Atlanta) carding 162.
In the B Flight, Brian Pope (Atlanta) claimed victory by just two strokes with rounds of 83-79-162. John Robinson (Hilton Head/Savannah) finished second at 163 followed by JC Mora (Hilton Head/Savannah) and Wes Mahaffey (Charleston) tied third at 164. Rounding out the top five was Shane Elliott (Atlanta) with 166.
In the C Flight, Allen Hagen (Charlotte) lead wire to wire with rounds of 84-83-167 total for the victory. Jefferys Williams (Tidewater) finished in second place with a two-day total of 174 followed by Josh Miller (Tidewater) and Marlan Morris (Charleston) in third place with 177. James Ravenel (Charleston) finished fifth at 179.
In the D Flight, Pattina Martinez (Eastern, NC) wins the crystal by posting a Two-Day total of 86-93-179. Sean Tavel (New Jersey) was solo second at 186 followed by Kent Barker (Charleston) with 188. Steven House (Richmond) was fourth at 194 followed by John Anderson (Mississippi) finished fifth at 200.
