Sequoyah National Golf Club provided picturesque backdrops for the 2024 Smoky Mountain Regional, April 20 and 21st. The weather, always a factor in the mountains, provided a little bit of everything: sunshine and warmth on Saturday to wind, and chilly rainy for a Sunday final.
Champ Flight, Lance Lacombe (Jacksonville) came out firing an incredible 66 (-6) clubhouse lead. Neither the field nor the rainy Sunday conditions could deter Lance's lead and he finished with scores 66-77-143 for the win. With Justin Lang (Central NC) finishing in 2nd at 151 followed by Mike Cobb (Charleston, SC) at 155 taking 3rd place.
In A Flight, the Saturday leaderboard featured a packed grouping led by Brian Haney (Columbus, OH) shooting an 80. Just one stroke behind was Scott Ide (Charlotte Tour Director) and Roger Stevenson (Charlotte), and Chris Martinez (Eastern NC), all carding an 81.
