Steve Johnson Scores Ace on #16 at Waldorf Astoria Golf Club

The dog days of summer are here--and it was hot at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club last weekend.  With regular afternoon rains the last couple of weeks, the course played long and challenging.  The day was highlighted by Stephen Johnson's ace on the 16th Hole.  Congratulations Steve.   It was the second ace on tour this year as Ivan Alvarado made one in the spring.

Championship flight belonged to Chad Frank as he shot 75  Cory Walker finished second with 77   Iin the Senior Championship flight, Chad Frank's 75 topped Bill Shufelt by 2..

A Flight saw a close race between John Marshall and Jason Manning.  John's 79 held off Manning who put up 81 to finish second  Robin Gomez took third with 83.    In Senior A FlightBill Rambo (81) topped the field.

Dan Seidenfaden shot 81 to take the B flight--the largest flight this week with 23 players.  Mark Klenck was second. Mark doubles in senior B and his 83 was good the victory.  Ray Rodriguez (85) was second, Chet Parker (86) third. Rich Chamberlain and Gator Gatrell shot 87 and needed a playoff to decide C fllight  Rich  won on the first extra hole.  Gator Gatrell topped the Senior C flight with his 87.
