A big “THANK YOU” to Peninsula Golf Resort and all the players that fought through tough conditions!! Weather definitely factored in to scores with 35 degree temperatures and 20 mph winds. That combined with firm greens and tough pin placements on a Pete Dye course made for a very fun but difficult golf course. We had 5 different tours represented and we are blaming the cold temps on the guys that came from up north…lol…we are truly thankful for those folks coming to attend our event!!
Congratulations to all our winners!!
Champ Flight Winner-Luke Bohm
Traveling down all the way from the Chicago, IL Tour, Luke Bohm took home the victory in the Champ Flight. After a back and forth start over the first 6 holes things leveled off for Luke on the front nine with a 1 over score taking a three-stroke lead to the back nine where the winds picked up but Luke remained steady to score the victory.
A Flight Winner-Chau Tran
Chau Tran backed up her victory in the 2-Person Scramble with another victory in a tight race to the end with paring number 18 to secure a one stroke victory. The flight was all withing three strokes of each other most of the day with scores going back and forth and lead changes on almost every other hole. Chau remained steady and fought through the conditions to bring home her second victory in as many tournaments.
C Flight Winner-Brandon Platt
Brandon Platt took home his first victory of the year. After a rough starting hole, Brandon put it behind him and focused on golf and not the conditions. With a one stroke lead going to the back nine, Brandon remained focused and pulled away from the field and went on to a six stroke victory in the end.
D Flight Winner-Don Hubbard
Don Hubbard came down from the Cincinnati/Dayton Tour and walked away with a victory! Don was like a lot of the golfers and had a rough start but got better as the round progressed. Carrying a four stroke lead to the back nine, Don was able to build on that and was able to cruise to a victory.
