Mozingo Day 2 Results 2024

 

Amazing close races in each Flight to claim their MO Open win. Mozingo Lake Golf Course hosted 49 Golfweek members. With a $5920 purse including $2735 in cash games. It was a beautiful weekend to crown each Flight.

The Champ Flight competition heated up on Day 2 as Adam Trainer tried to close the gap of 6 strokes with a fiery birdie on the 2nd hole. However, it was JR Munson who clinched his 3rd victory of the season, securing the title belt for Player of the Year in style!

A Flight on Day 1 of the tournament, Scottie Glodowski swooped in to claim the leaderboard throne by just one stroke ahead of Travis Bryant and Scott Rutherford. The competition was as tight as a snug golf glove, with only five strokes separating the top seven contenders. Day 2 was a nail-biter, with all eyes on these seven golfing dynamos. The final showdown on the 18th hole had hearts racing, but Glodowski managed to secure a victory by a single stroke over Bryant. Not to be overlooked, Sean McClain soared into third place with an impressive round on Day 2, finishing strong at +8.

The B Flight leaderboard was a rollercoaster ride! Justin Blake kicked off the competition with a slim two-shot lead over Kelly Bordewick and a three-shot lead over Kyle Rosenbaum. Day 2 brought a surprising twist with all three players tied for the lead just after the first hole. As the tournament heated up, At the turn, Kyle Rosenbaum filled the two-stroke lead over Justin Blake with Kelly Bordewick trailing by five shots. Kyle's impressive third birdie with just 3 holes left sealed the deal giving him his first B Flight win, holding off Blake by a stroke, while Kelly settled for a respectable third place finish.

The C Flight crew faced a personal round bombshell, +6 from Alex Blancarte. Just when everyone assumed it was game over, Jim Mcintyre made a stunning comeback, narrowing the lead to just 2 strokes with 6 holes left, following a +10 on Day 2. In a gripping finale, Bob "Bulldog" Kendall swooped in to claim 3rd place by a mere stroke, leaving Kirby Rogers and Thad Weston just short of the prize purse. Giving Alex Blancarte his first Tour Victory, with McIntyre claiming 2nd place.

The D Flight started out Day 2 with four golfers within 2 strokes and after 16 holes, the foursome was within 3 strokes of one another. Dan Grodzicki started off leading with a +19 but held just a share of the lead with Brad Haeffner just after the first hole on Day 2. Haeffner then tied for the lead 14 of the 18 holes. Ron Rosenbaum swoops in to take the lead on hole 14, but stumbles on hole 15 with a triple bogey, to tie things up again. Carl Cessor and Dan Grodzicki make a comeback, breathing down the leaders' necks with only 3 strokes down and 3 holes left. Rosenbaum finishes with Par, Par, Double, just when you think the games in the bag, Cessor pulls off a surprise finish with a +2 on the final 6 holes. Cessor nails a jaw-dropping 35-foot putt with 6 feet of break snagging a birdie on their 17th hole and a par on the final hole securing the win with a +41, followed by Ron Rosenbaum claiming 2nd place with +42, then Dan Grodzicki taking 3rd with +44.
