Tie Breakers
First-Place Ties Sudden-death playoff
  • All first-place ties (all events) are decided by a sudden-death playoff on the course.
  • If more than two players are tied, the playoff ends as soon as a winner is determined.
  • The playoff winner receives the trophy and the first-place prize.
Remaining tied players’ places (for prize purposes) will be determined by the scorecard playoff formats below.
1-Day Event Tiebreakers (Outside 1st) Matching Scorecards

For prize purposes (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.), ties are broken using the USGA Matching Scorecards method:

Back Nine

  • Best total of last 9 holes
  • Then best total of last 6 holes
  • Then best total of last 3 holes
  • Then 18th hole

If still tied: Front Nine

  • Best total of last 6 holes (of the front nine)
  • Then best total of last 3 holes
  • Then 9th hole
2-Day Event Tiebreakers (Outside 1st) Day-by-day order

For prize purposes (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.), ties are broken in this order:

  • Day 2 total
  • Day 1 total
  • Day 2 back nine
  • Day 2 front nine
  • Day 1 back nine
  • Day 1 front nine
If a winner is still not determined, a tie will be declared and the prizes will be split between tied players.
Shortened Rounds & Final Decisions Director authority
  • If the round is less than 18 holes, tiebreaking will be determined by a discussion between the Local Tour Director and the Tour President.
Note: The AGT Tour Director will always be the final decision on all Tour matters.
