Pull off that head cover. The move from May to March has changed how the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is playing for this week’s Players Championship, with seasonal rye grass offering a much greener – and possibly more forgiving – test. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)

A better island. The iconic 17th green at the Stadium Course might have been a completely unreasonable challenge if not for a suggestion from Alice Dye, the wife of architect Pete Dye who passed away in February.

Tiger troubles. Though after his turn at the island green today, Tiger Woods might not be the biggest fan of Alice's water-filled design. Follow Woods' round, shot-by-shot, here as he makes the turn.

Death of the hazard. With the new Rules of Golf changes for 2019, the word hazard is nowhere to be found. Something feels lost with that change, as the newly ordained “penalty area” certainly doesn’t roll off the lips.

Big night. In celebration of the upcoming Masters, Turner Sports and Endeavor have created “Augusta at Night,” a festival featuring golf, food and music on April 12 in North Augusta, S.C. The event features custom golf experiences by Golfweek and a concert by Hootie and the Blowfish.

A whole new No. 4. Gil Hanse reimagined the vast, rolling landscape of Pinehurst No. 4 in his recent redesign, with large swathes of sand replacing grass rough amid the hilliest section of the resort’s core property.

Some pros love it, others hate it. Check out what our Golfweek raters had to say about the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, site of this week’s Players Championship, after recent rounds.

Great routing. "The course was in the best shape I have seen in a decade. I have always believed it has one of the most iconic layouts, though they mess with it quite a bit, but the core routing is one of the best, especially in Florida." – Russell Radell, Greensboro, Ga.
Tough enough. "I had the opportunity to play this course way back in the 1980s. Since then, the course has softened a little bit after feedback from the pros and amateurs alike. This is simply one of the hardest golf courses you will ever play, PERIOD! I don't care what tees you are playing from. ... I have never been mentally more tired after a round of golf than on this course. There is so much trouble on just about every hole that you must plan every single shot." – Alfred Santoro, Delray Beach, Fla.
Great shape. "Had the opportunity to play before the Players Championship, therefore the course is in great shape. What a joy to play. Loved the greens!" – Linda Carrier, Pinehurst, N.C.

Take a drop ... to one knee. With a little help from Sergio Garcia, Ricardo Fonseca proposed to Emma Baxley on the island 17th green at the Stadium Course during Wednesday’s practice round for the Players Championship. Garcia pulled out Baxley from the crowd and led her onto the green before Fonseca walked from the tunnel in the grandstands and dropped to one knee. It was all quite the production, but she said yes and thankfully nobody dropped the ring into the pond. (Photo by Darren Carroll/PGA Tour)
