CurrentNews:

To all Golfweek Amateur Tour Members,

On behalf of the entire Golfweek organization, I want to thank you for your membership of the Golfweek Amateur Tour.  We are incredibly proud of our relationship with what we feel is the best option for organized amateur competition for folks like you and me.

I am writing to inform you of some changes to our magazine frequency and format for 2021. Our plan is to publish four issues in 2021 including our annual Golfweek’s Best in April and Ultimate Guide in December. In addition to these two issues, we will publish a new issue called Get Equipped in February that will highlight everything new in the game for 2021 including equipment, gear, places to visit and more. The second new issue is titled Golf Life in July and will feature in-depth stories and interviews with the movers, shakers and personalities that drive the business and sport of golf. We are excited about the new schedule and plan to bring the same style of expert, in-depth journalism that you expect from Golfweek..

I hope that you also enjoying www.golfweek.usatoday.com as well as our weekly digital newsletter products including: Monday Rewind, Get Equipped, Get Primed, Golf Life and Get Better. You can sign up for these here.

Thank you again for being a Golfweek Amateur Tour Member.

Sincerely,

Patrick Leahy

SCHEDULE IS BEING COMPLETED SOON!!

PACE OF PLAY UPDATE!!!!!

OUR ROUNDS SHOULD TAKE NO MORE THAN 4.5 HOURS TO COMPLETE.  SIMPLE RULE IS THAT IF YOU CAN NOT SEE THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU, YOU ARE BEHIND AND NEED TO SPEED UP!!!  WHILE WE WANT TO PRACTICE GOOD GOLF ETIQUETTE AND PLAY ACCORDING TO WHO IS AWAY, READY GOLF IS NECESSARY TO KEEP A BIGGER ETIQUETTE ISSUE DOWN AND THAT IS SLOW PLAY AND HOLDING OTHERS UP.  PLEASE BE AWARE AND REMEMBER THERE IS A TIME LIMIT FOR LOOKING FOR LOST BALLS AND THAT PENALTIES CAN BE APPLIED, BUT NONE OF US WANT THAT.

WITH THE ABOVE BEING SAID, IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH ANOTHER PLAYER OR ME AS THE DIRECTOR THEN BRING THE ISSUE TO ME IN A MANNER THAT DOES NOT DISRUPT WHAT AS THE DIRECTOR HAVE TO HANDLE AT THE END OF TOURNAMENTS WITH SCORE VERIFICATIONS, PRIZES, AND SKINS!!  AS THE DIRECTOR IT IS MY JOB TO ADDRESS ANY ISSUE, BUT BRINGING THAT ISSUE AT THE WRONG TIME JUST ADDS TO THE OVERALL ISSUES THAT HAVE TO BE HANDLED AT EACH AND EVERY TOURNAMENT.

AS THE DIRECTOR, I AM GOING TO DO ALL I CAN TO MAKE EACH TOURNAMENT ENJOYABLE, COMPETITIVE AND CONSISTENT...AND WE WANT EACH PLAYER WALKING AWAY WITH AN EXPERIENCE, WHETHER WIN OR LOSE, THAT WILL KEEP BRINGING THEM BACK TO PLAY EACH FUTURE TOURNAMENT.

THANK YOU, YOUR COMMITTED KY DIRECTOR, ED EARLY!!

Central KY Masters at Peninsula Golf Resort

Our first 2-Day Major Tournament was great!!  We had new winners and new members all play and enjoyed the weather and course at Peninsula Golf Resort.  Our flight was competitive, and each flight entered the tournament's second day with players separated by a few strokes.  We had some that made comebacks to win and some that held on to the lead from day 1.  Congratulations to all our winners!!
