The Atlanta Tour’s first two-day, non-regional event of the season was a good one! Players flocked to Wolf Creek Golf Club, just two and a half hours west of Augusta National Golf Club, for a Masters-like event of their own.

David Frank made his tour debut over the weekend, and it was one to remember! He shot a 1-over-par (73) both days, capturing the Championship Flight victory (146). Frank made several birdies throughout his round and had an Eagle on the back nine Sunday. RJ Foltz, of the Kentucky Tour, placed second with a 150 while Jeremy Hudson rounded out the top-3 with a 155.

Bill Lavinder earned the A Flight win, carding a 166 over the two days. Sameer Siddiqi finished in a two-way tie for second with Kelly Raglin, a Nashville member (173). Two others tied for fourth with scores of 175: Heather Hoover and Zeb Orlando

Nine strokes separated Kadar Josey and the B Flight leader when Saturday wrapped up. Less than 24 hours later, Josey was back out on the course and playing as well as ever, overcoming that deficit en route to the victory. Josey made four birdies and eight pars Sunday for a 77 — 15 strokes better than the day before — and a two-day score of 169. Gairy Austin edged out Bob Santee for second, 173-174, while Deon Cook placed fourth with a 175.

Dusty Mullis wrapped up his round before many other C Flight participants, so all he could do was wait. Would his two-day score of 181 hold? Short answer: yes, and he learned of his victory in the clubhouse as the players came in with their cards. Lee Morris placed second, just one stroke behind Mullis. The scores stayed close going down the leaderboard as Jeff Stewart shot a 183, good for third, and Marty Abernathy and Greg Smith tied for fourth (184).

The D Flight winner was Dennis Dreelin, who used scores of 94 Saturday and Sunday for the tournament low (186). Donald Price wasn’t too far behind Dreelin as he placed second with a 186. Antonio Henderson shot a 194, placing third, while Josh Horton edged Naveed Anwar for fourth, 200-201.
