MACDONALD WINS THIRD STRAIGHT EVENT; GARDNER, EBERLY WIN PLAYOFFS

For the third time in five events, the Golfweek Amateur Tour / Orlando had over 100 at a tournament. This time it was the beautiful ChampionsGate Country Club.
First year member Erik MacDonald continued in top form as he won the Championship flight for the third straght time. He posted an even par 72. Chad Frank was second on 74. Frank's 74 was good for the Senior Championship flight victory--by two strokes over Bill Shufelt

Tanner Halbert (Tampa) shot perhaps the best round of the day--a 72--to take A flight by three over Travis Fore (75) and John James (75). James won the Senior A flight with his 75. Ed Paterniti and Robbie Robinson were second, one stroke back. Ed won the scorecard playoff.
In the B flight flight, Dan Gardner took top honors after a 1-hole playoff with Jordan Whitehurst. Both shot 78. Rowland Brown and Ray Alexander (79) tied third.. Dan edged Rowland and Ray for Senior B.
Ths C flight went to tour veteran Rick Broennle for the second tournament ina row. He cruised to a five shot win over John Renegar (85). Five players were another stroke back on 86. Rick and John finished 1-2 in Senior C.
Steve Eberly, a past national Champion in D flight won D flight after a 1-hole playoff with Angelo Salalilla (Tampa). Steve now plays on the North Central Florida tour.
