It was a beautiful spring day and 110 players opened the 2019 Golfweek Amateur Tour / Orlando season at Black Bear Golf Club in Eustis, FL.
The Championship and Senior Championship flights both needed playoffs to decide a winner. Tom Dillon outlasted Ray Vigeant as they went five holes before Tom's birdie took the trophy. Bill Shufelt and Chad Frank needed four extra holes before Bill made a birdie to decide that flight.
Jonathan James shot a fine 75 to take the A flight by 3 over four players who shot 78--Ed Paterniti, Greg Callahan, Chris Burns and Stephan Jones. Jonathan also won the Senior A flight. He edged Mike Kofil by a single shot.
In the B flight, Ray Alexander took top honors with a 77. It was four better than four players--Willey Haggins, Justin Carroll, Rowland Brown and Bill Writt. Ray also won in Senior B
Ths C flight went to tour veteran Rich Chamberlain with 86. It was two better than Rick Whitman. Three players--Charlie James, Freddy Delarosa and Steve Kollar. Rick Whitman took the Seniior C flight.
Shaun Southward took D flight with 84. Brett Morris of the NCF tour was second at 87. Brian Mack finished thrid with 91.
