The Golfweek Amateur Tour / Orlando played its final major of 2018 at Southern Dunes on July 28-29.. On a hot July weekend, players competed hard for positions in the Points Race. The top 15 in A, B, & C flights along with the top 10 in Champ and D flights get the coveted invitations to the Tour Championships in October..
Championship flight belonged to Garrett Morrison as he fired a hot 6-under 66 on Sunday to follow his opening 74. His 140 was good for a six shot win over Chad Frank who shot 69 Sunday after opeiing with 77. Danny Nash finished third with a pair of 74's. Iin the Senior Championship flight, Chad Frank's 69 Sunday topped first round leader John Ward, who fell back with 77 after 71 on Saturday..

A Flight saw a close race between Jason Manning and Sam Bellamy. Jason opened with 75 for the first roundlead, but Sam was just 2 back on 77. Sam played steady on Sunday and posted 76 for 153 to hold off Manning who put up 79 to finish one back. Eric Kellough took third with 78-80. In Senior A Flight, Byron Murrell (80-76) held off steady Andy Baker (80-80).

Jay Starr (79-73) cruised to victory in B Flight. He beat Ray Rodriguez by 9. Ray opened with 79 as well, but couldn't keep up on Sunday. Neil Corbett was one behind Ray in third with 81-81. Jay earned a promotion back to A flight following the event. In Senior B Ray took top honors with his 79-82. Neil Corbett was second.

D Flight was the tightest race all weekend. Danny Hinklley stormed back from a 9 stroke deficit after the first round to grab a one stroke victory over Kim Crank of the Tidewater tour. Danny shot 99-90 and Kim 100-90. Robert Russ was third after steady rounds of 95-96-191.
