HAMMONS, RODRIGUEZ, DAVIS DOUBLE WINNERS AT VICTORIA HILLS

Jim Hammons (Jax Tour)--Championship & SrChampionship Flights

The Golfweek Amateur Tour / Orlando stopped at Victoria Hills in DeLand on March 31. Cloudy skies and a cool March breeze greeted the 89 players.  “We have players from all parts of central Florida and we like to visit as many areas as possible” said Tom Mirus, Tour director.  Former Orlando member Jim Hammons, now playing out of the Jacksonville tour topped the Championship flight with a 2 over par 74.  Danny Nash (76) was 2nd and Chad Frank (79) took third .  Jim and Chad "doubled" in the Senior Championship flight and took the top two places there.

Robin Gomez, A Flight

A Flight went to Robin Gomez with 76.  It was two better than Paul Cope and first time player Paul Drinkwater (78).  In Senior A Flight, first time player Paul Drinkwater won with his 78.  Robbie Robinson (80) took second.

Ray Rodriguez, B Flight and SrB Flight

Ray Rodriguez (84) grabbed a 2 shot victory in B Flight with a nice round of 84.  MJ Moore (86) was second.  First year member Sean Schillinger (87) was third followed by John Prano (88) in fourth.  In the Senior B Flight, Rodriguez finished six shots in front of Chet Parker (90).

(L) Billy Davis, C Flight & SrC Flight; Mark McKinney, D Flight

C Flight belonged to Billy Davis as he posted 84 to take a three sroke win over Chuck Jaqueth and Rick Whitman, both posting 87's.  Billy and Rick "doubled" in Senior C and finished first and seecond., respectively.  D Flight saw Mark McKinney of the Tampa tour lead the way with 88.  Charles Benintende (92) also of Tampa and Danny Hinkley (93) were 2nd and 3rd.
