JACOB RICHARD MAKES 10 BIRDIES; SHULER WINS FOR FIRST TIME

The Golfweek Amateur Tour stopped at Tranquilo Golf Club on August 12.  Jacob Richard found the course to his liking--what a day he had--as he put up 10 birdies, shot 66 and suffered a 2 stroke penalty for playing a wrong ball.  Still he cruised to an eight shot win in Championship Flight over Jeff Moritz.   Chad Frank and Mike Menyhart posted 75's to tie for first in Senior Championship Flight so they headed back out with Chad winning with a birdie on the first extra hole.

A Flight saw Robin Gomez shoot 73 to edge past Michael Perrault's 74.    Matthew Colgrove (Arkansas) finished third, shooting 76.   Donald Dunivant and Gary Martinet needed a playoff in Senior A Flight after each posted 77.  Donald won on the third extra hole.

Jonathan Pinkney (77) won the Golfweek B flight in his first event there after being promoted following the major at Streamsong.  Steve Johnson was second in B and won Senior B with 78.  Mark Klenck (80) was third in Golfweek B flight, second in Senior B.   Michael Moore won the C Flight with 83.  Dan Podawiltz was second with 85, Peyton Zeigler (86) was third.  Rick Whitman won the Senior C flight on 88.

The D flight saw Chris Shuler shoot 89 and win for the first time on tour.  Kenney Brumfield and Danny Hinkley tied for second with 92.
