MORRISON, HUFFINGTON, BRUMFIELD WIN FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK; GARDNER DOUBLES IN B & SrB

The Golfweek Amateur Tour returned to one of its favorite courses--the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club--June 3 for the BSGC Open.  After taking the top spot in the first major of the year two weeks ago, Garrett Morrison followed it up with a 3-under par 69 at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club.  He held off new member Tyler Bennett by a single stroke as Tyler also broke par with a 70.  Bill Shufelt won senior Championship flight with 74.

Eric Huffington was tops in A for the second tournament in a row as he shot 76 to take the victory.  Sam Bellamy took second, one stroke back.  John Marshall finished third, another stroke back with 78.  But John's biggest victory came when his name was drawn as the winner of the second Streamsong raffle and he recieved a paid entry to the next major in July..  Byron Murrell won senior A flight with 79.

Dan Gardner took a two stroke victory in the Golfweek & Senior B flights, his 82 beating Mark Klenck who also was second in Senior B.   Grand Ripley won the C Flight with 84, edging Rick Whitman by 1.   Whitman won first in senior C.

The D flight saw Kenney Brumfield win a two hole playoff with Chris Shuler after each shot 92.  Collin Dillon and Mike Greene (Jax) missed the playoff by one shot.
