Chad Frank (L) & John Bessette Win Championship / SrChamp Flights At Grand Cypress

It was a sweltering July day at Grand Cypress on Saturday.  With no trees on the course players got the full effect of the 95 degree heat  The par 72 layout produced the lowest winning score of the season as Chad Frank posted six birdies and one bogey, shooting 67 in Championship flight.  He was not alone as every flight produced some terrific scores on the links style layout.  Roibin Gomez took the A flight with 73. There were two playoffs, one in B flight where Mark Klenck and Don Lamb shot 76.  Mark's par on the second extra hole sealed his victory.  Terry Lawson topped C & SrC flight and George Ricardi won in the D Flight.  John Bessette, Ed Paterniti, Mark Klenck won senior Championship, senior A and senior B, respectively.  Paterniti topped Gary Martinet in a two hole playof in senior A. 

Four players earned promotions for the next event--Mike Ferretti from B to A, Terry Lawson and Mark Johnson from C to B and George Ricardo from D to C.  Congratulations to each of you on your fine play.
