WARD SHOOTS 69; MARTINET PUTS UP 74 IN A FLIGHT; SARGENT GOES LOW IN B FLIGHT; RIVERS YOUNGEST WINNER IN D FLIGHT
John Ward (69) (R) Wins Championship & Sr Championship Flights At Falcon's Fire
Gary Martinet (74) Wins A & Sr A Flights at Falcon's Fire
A blazing hot sun pushed temperatures into the mid 90's, but the
friendly surroundings of Falcon's Fire brought out the low scores in
all the flights of the Golfweek Amateur Tour on June 13. John Ward posted the best score of the day, shooting 69 in Championship flight. Gary Martinet took over first place in the A flight with his win in A flight. Gregg Sargent led a number of players posting great scores in B flight. Joe Porter topped C flight and Avery Rivers became the youngest winner on the Orlando Golfweek Amateur Tour at 15. Two players, Eric Kellough and Jay Freeman
earned promotions to A and B flights, respectively. They will begin in
their new flight at Eagle Creek. Promotions are based on players' AGT
index moving into a new flight range. Congratulations to Eric and Jay
on their fine play!
