DANNY NASH WINS FOR FIRST TIME; PIAZA WINS SECOND IN ROW; RODRIGUEZ WINS PLAYOFF
Danny Nash (L) & Alex Piaza Win Championship and A Flights, respectively
88 players teed it up at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club on July 26. The course had dried out from early week rains and was in excellent condition. It gave everyone all they could handle. It is a great place that is sure to land on our future schedules.
Championship Flight: Danny Nash was the only player to better par on the Rees Jones layout. He turned in a fine 69 to capture a four stroke victory over John Bessette (73). Rob Kempinski, playing for the first time in several weeks had a nice 34 on the front 9, but a 41 on the back left him in third with 75. Bill Shufelt beat Bob Casemento on the scorecard match for fourth place after each shot 77.
A Flight: Alex Piaza kept the hot hand he had at Eagle Creek last time out as he shot 77 to win the A Flight. Gary Martinet came in with 78 to grab second place. David Parker finished on 80 and thrid after matching cards with Donald Dunivant (80).
Ray Rodriguez Wins B Flight Playoff Over Matt Mewes After Each Shot 83
B Flight: Ray Rodriguez and Matt Mewes shot 83's to force a playoff. Ray's par on the first hole was good enough to take the victory. It was three strokes back to Dan Gardner and Eric Kellough in a tie for third place at 86 Dan won the scorecard playoff. Chuck Jaqueth was alone in fifth after 87.
C Flight: Jay Freeman claimed top honors with a solid round of 87. He finished a single stroke in front of Tommy Saskowski (88) and two in front of Sam Mellor (89). Both are from the North Central Florida Tour. MIchael Moore shot 90 for fourth place.

D Flight: Brandon Prokop cruised to a five stroke win with 92. Frank Fornari was second with 97.
Senior Championship Flight: Rob Kempinski shot 75 to top Bill Shufelt (77). Bob Casemento also shot 77 but lost on the scorecard match.

Senior A Flight: Gary Nartinet's 78 took top honors in Senior A. He was two better than Donald Dunivant & David Parker (80). Donald won the scorecard match for second place
Senior B Flight:, Ray Rodriguez needed no playoff to decide this flight. His 83 topped Dan Gardner (86) by three. Dave Dymond was third with 92.
