MENYHART, KING SCORE VICTORIES IN THE RAIN AT SOUTHERN  DUNES

 
STEADY RAIN AND DRIZZLE PLAGUED PLAYERS ALL DAY AT SOUTHERN DUNES--BUT EVERYONE FINISHED WITH NO DELAYS

It was a not a typical spring day at Southern Dunes. The rain started shortly after the first groups teed off and stayed most of the day.  The sun never did shine and it was not the most pleasant day to play.  But we couuldn't have been at a better course to handle a little rain.  Even after much rain in the days leading up to our event, the course was great and the greens did not seem to lose any of their trademank speed.. .

MIKE MENYHART WINS SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT AT SOUTHERN DUNES

Championship Flight:   John Bessette wasn't tothered much by the weather as he posted his second straignt win with a 4-under 68.  He cruised to a five stroke win over Kelly Ballard.  Three players tied for third;  Spencer Mims, Andres Vera and Scott Davis all posted 75's.   Mims plays on the Tiedwater tour. Mike Menyhart's 76 topped the Senior Championship flight.  Bill Foster and John Ward shot 77 to tie for second..

A Flight:  Scores were good in A flight as: Brian King led four players in breaking 80. His 74 was good for a one stroke victory over Denis Cargo.  Another stroke back was  Mark Farrow (76).  And Sam Bellamy (78) was fourth.   Robbie Robinson won for the second straight time in Senior A Flight with 80.  David Parker was second,one shot back at 81.

BRIAN KING WINS A FLIGHT AT SOUTHERN DUNES 

B Flight:  New mwmber John Ragusa shot a 75 to top the B flight.  Rick Whitman was four back with 79. .  Mike Ferretti (80) finished third.  In Senior B Flight, Whitman's 79 was good for the victory.over. Brad Bettin and Kevin Robbins.  They finished with 83's.

C Flight:  Micheal Moore scored a one stroke victory in C flight with 87.  He edged past Dan Podawiltz (88).    New member Mark Klenck finished 3rd with 89. 

MICHAEL MOORE WINS C FLIGHT AT SOUTHERN DUNES

D Flight:  Frank Fornari shot a 91 to capture a 2 shot victory over George Aylsworth (93).
