DFW Tour Tackles Hawks Creek The DFW Tour played it's second event of the 2009 season on March 22nd at Hawks Creek Golf Club. The morning started off great and shorlty became a big challenge for the tour players. Nice, clear skies gave way to rolling clouds and breezes that led to winds topping 35 mph. At times, on the par 5, 9th and 18th hole the wind gusts exceeded 40 mph dead into the players face. This made these challenging holes more difficult to navigate the long, skinny, tree-lined fairways. We would like to congratulate all of our tour players and our flight winners. Champ Flight Comes Down to the Scorecard Bobby Breed makes 5 birdies, shoots a 77, and gets his first victory in 2009, but it was not easy for him. He was tied with Don Cole after 9 holes. They both battled through the back nine and they found themselves tied after 18. It came down to a scorecard sudden death. They were tied after the first hole, but Bobby edged Don out on the second hole. It was a round neither could stop talking about! Congratulations, Bobby! Rockwell Finds his Second Straight Victory Terry Rockwell dominated the "A" Flight with a solid round of 77. He played with accuracy and precision all day. He had a driving accuracy of 78.6% and was on 50% of the greens in regulation. He even sunk one 40 foot birdie putt for a skin. He beat the field by 9 strokes. Congratulation, Terry! Kalb Continues his Winning Ways in 2009 Jason Kalb found his way to the winners circle for the first time in 2009. However, this was a place he was used to being from last year. Jason dominated the field with an 8 stroke victory. He made 1 birdie and 8 pars on his way to an impressive 84. If you play against Jason, you had better bring your "A" game. Congratulations, Jason! Hilton Records his First Victory on the Tour Tim Hilton scrambled his way to an impressive 6 stroke victory over the field. Tim had several great moments out on the course with 5 pars and one fantastic 40+ foot putt for birdie. Tim shot an 89. The only round in his flight in the 80s. This was an impressive recovery from the last tournament. This was also Tim's first victory on the DFW Tour! Congratulations, Tim!
