The Charleston and Eastern Tour’s got together for a little Fish Camp Frenzy at Caledonia golf club on Sat Jun 15th. The weather started off hot and so did the golf!
The Championship Flight was a battle all day as the lead changed hands multiple times. Chris Dale who was in forth place at the turn, turned it up on the back nine to take a one-shot victory over hard charging Dale Fuller to take home his first trophy of the year with a smooth 72 to Dale’s 73
The A flight saw Chris Martinez post an early score of 74 which seamed to be a great score. Dan Wanner playing in the second to last group fired an awesome round of 3 over par to also take a one-shot victory over Chris 73-74
The B flight went back and forth all day as well. Ian Dario was on fire on the back 9 (his front) turning in one over par 36. Ian had a little trouble on the first few holes on the front side and Robin Neverve took advantage and played some very good steady golf to fire a back nine score of 37 to take home a 3-shot victory. Ian finished in second with Johnnie Cooper coming in third with Andy Weeks but taking the 3rd place $ due to a scorecard playoff.
The C flight battled all day and then decided they didn’t have enough as Kacey Reeder and Alvin Walling both fired very nice rounds of 83 to finish in a tie for first. They took to the playoff hole but Kacey’s putt to save par just slid by and Alvin won his first event of the year! David Deese, who had quite the day, finished one shot out of the playoff
The D flight had the most spectacular finish of the Day as it appeared Patina Martinez and Gage Moody seemed destined for a playoff. Patina was in the club house and Gage was finishing up on hole 9, his last of the day. Gage found the putting surface and then instead of two-putting for the tie, he holed it for the win!!
Special mention to Dean Sanders for his Hole-in-one on the 9th hole today!
Great job to all and thank you for coming out to enjoy this wonderful golf course
